A Country Club Community With The Best of Town and Country Living!
Picture an emerald lying on a pile of sand - a dark green, shining jewel in striking contrast with its surroundings. That's the first impression of the Picacho Hills Country Club golf course (Pro Turf Magazine). Because of its location in a small metropolitan area, the 6950-yard, par-72 championship course at Picacho Hills is far—perhaps 15 to 20 years away—from being crowded.  Members at this private course have the advantage of almost always being able to golf whenever they want and as much as they want.  Moreover, our high-desert location gives us a perfect climate for year-round golf.

Housing in Picacho Hills. One Picacho Hills resident said of her neighborhood, “Picacho Hills is a quiet peaceful area with beautiful views of the Organ Mountains, valley and the city lights. It also has a wonderful blend of people-both from Las Cruces and across the U.S. – this makes it a very special place to live.”

The Picacho Hills area has much more to offer than just country club living. Within this master planned community there are a number of different residential subdivisions. There are 600 home-sites in the area and approximately 1200 residents at this time. Home prices and styles vary among the subdivisions ranging from condominiums to garden homes to single family homes of varied sizes and styles both on and off the golf course. Home prices range from $130,000 to over $500,000.

For people who are looking for a smaller, low-maintenance environment without compromising on quality, Fairway Village is certainly a neighborhood to consider. This private, gated subdivision features homesites for detached, zero-lot-line patio homes with views of the golf course and Organ Mountains. Model homes are available for sale, or you can work with the builder of your choice to create a custom floor plan. Homesites are priced from $39,500 to $46,500, and land/home packages from builders start at $159,000.

Sparkling blue skies . . . refreshingly clean air . . . fascinating vegetation and wildlife . . . ancient mountains . . . fertile valleys . . . wonderful high-desert climate . . . a soothing peacefulness: these are some of the simple yet priceless pleasures awaiting those who seek out the best of New Mexico's "Land of Enchantment." In this same region of New Mexico nearly half a millennium ago, the explorer Francisco Coronado searched for treasures of gold and silver, but the true treasures of New Mexico were right before his eyes--and these natural treasures are now available to a select few in the pleasant environment of Coronado Ridge. This area is one of the region's finest private, gated neighborhood Located just beyond the fairways of Picacho Hills, and overlooking the fields and orchards of the Rio Grande valley Architect-designed homesites sized from two-thirds acre to three acres. Coronado Ridge is a lively mix of retirees and younger families Outstanding views of the mountains, valley, and city lights--all the features that make the high desert of southern New Mexico so uniquely attractive.

Picacho Hills is located three miles west of the City of Las Cruces in Dona Ana County. Property taxes here are approximately 30% lower than for comparable property within the city limits. Living outside the city offers several other advantages, such as a quiet atmosphere with lovely views, while still being close enough to the shopping and restaurants in the city.facility and a water distribution system, which provides water for domestic use, as well as supplemental watering for the golf course. The utility protects the ecology, and our valuable water resources by recycling processed and purified effluent water onto the golf course.

Picacho Hills Country Club. One bonus to living in this community is the Picacho Hills Country Club. Originally started in 1978, it provides a quality living community with home-sites fronting on a championship level golf course, making Picacho Hills the first development in the area to be built around a golf course setting. The golf course is consistently rated by Golf Digest as one of the top two country club courses in New Mexico. Residents do not have to be members of the club, but it boasts a 70 percent membership of homeowners. The people who live in Picacho Hills enjoy both leisure and active lifestyles. The Club is a focal point to meet with friends and neighbors, enjoy planned social events or just linger over dinner while the sun sets and the mountains turn purple.
